Using google classroom for my first lesson plan was incredibly amazing for my kindergartens. This app has a lot of interesting methods for teachers to teach younger students to start learning about digital citizenship. For this lesson we will be using google drawings and YouTube as technology materials. In google drawing students will be able to draw and explore the app to know more about technology. This will help the students with their creativity and their visual/ kinesthetic abilities. Me as a teacher, will be using YouTube to show my students a book audio with some images from the book.
My Technology TEK for my assignment is (8) Practical technology Concepts. The lesson and the assignment that I came out with I have done it before in daycare. Few months ago, I was working in a daycare, and I learn how to engage little kids to read books. For my kindergarten students before I start reading, I will show them the cover from the book and ask them if they have any idea of what the story could be about. After finishing listing to their opinions, I will read a book which is called “No, David!” When we finish the book, I will continue to ask my students if they have any similar experiences from the book and how can we fix the problem. In other words, we will brainstorm before starting the assignment; but first I will show them the YouTube video book for my visual learners. I will login to google in all devices. For the assignment they will have to draw some good behaviors David can do or how can fix his bad behavior. I will guide my students and show them on my screen some easy ways to draw. Lastly to encourage my students to do their best I will give them some golden star stickers. Under Bloom’s Taxonomy this assignment benefits the students with all learning outcomes.Remembering what the meaning of the book is, Understanding what a good and bad behavior are, Applying the new rule they will create, Analyzing the bad actions of David, Evaluating new ideas for David, and Creating a new behavior.
The book “No David!” By David Shannon is a children’s book that was publish in 1998. The book is about a 5-year-old boy who breaks the rules and gets in trouble. The reason I choose this book is because I believe children can identified themselves with this story. Children want to do many things when they can’t but sometimes, we don’t explain why they can’t make those actions. I believe that this assignment will make students learn more about actions and behaviors just like David. My best advice to other kindergarten teachers is to have fun with their students with assignments that will help them grow in different ways.
